Using Cloth Diapers
There is no need to use pins anymore in order to use cloth diapers. Simply fold the diaper in thirds and lay it inside the cover. Then velcro or snap your cover on and you're done! There are other ways to fold the diaper, but this is the simplest method. You can use pins or Snappi's if you choose, but again, it is not necessary. There are also many covers to choose from, some made by large companies, but many hand-made by work at home parents.
When the diaper is soiled, simply shake any solids into your toilet and put the diaper in the hamper. There is no need to soak or rinse the diaper, just toss it in the pail. You also do not wash the cover with each diaper change. Many parents rotate through covers, hanging them to air out between diaper changes. When the covers become soiled, or begin to smell, they wash them either by hand, or with a load of regular laundry.
